Visionary Municipality of Groningen
VirtualCities is our virtual communication platform in which data from spatial planning becomes visual. In 2023, the Municipality of Groningen took the step with us to present a first project, a spatial design of the city including variants, through the platform. This collaboration ensured that today VirtualCities has become a powerful medium for the presentation and evaluation of projects, as well as in communication to and between the various parties involved. It is therefore safe to say that Groningen’s visionary approach has made it clear that Virtual Cities is a particularly suitable tool within the area development process!
Toward Adulthood
We are now well over a year on and VirtualCities is growing. We are ready for new partners and working on new features, such as a library of 3D design objects. We are also preparing for the general public. Consider, for example, a virtually organized event for residents of different municipalities. At the same time, we are closely monitoring interesting developments. After all, growth does not come naturally. Platforms such as those of Open Urban, an initiative of Future Insight and Cap Gemini working together with the City of Rotterdam to make various data sources available, is a good example of this. Indeed, from this concept we too can add and evaluate the human experience to information.

Thanks to the interactive 3D user experience and convenient features within the platform, it is the ideal tool for experiencing your own vision or design. Collaboration is the key here!
