StudioXR is a place where equipment and expertise come together; something that sets us apart when you look at local offerings. As such, it’s something we’re proud of, and of course we love to share that pride with the public. That’s why, for our blog this week, we’re talking to two of our experts: Taco van Zurkour behind-the-scenes expert and Paul Berleeour expert in front of the scenes.

Both gentlemen have years of experience as technical trainers. This is precisely why it is nice to see how, despite the shared background, each has followed his own path during the evolution of digital education. Taco is behind the buttons a lot these days. Here his main task is to completely unburden the customer.

“I incorporate the client’s requirements so that while presenting a webinar or training, he or she only has to focus on the content.”

Taco van Zurk

Technical Expert, StudioXR

This unburdening begins even before the recording/stream starts. This is how he explains:

“First of all, I start by making sure that the presentation is workable and ready for use in the studio. It’s incredibly important that everything is stable and can’t go crazy. Therefore, I run through every slide and check that everything is in working order.

Then a title bar is created in which the name of the speaker will appear. Of course, this bar meets the requirements that are certainly required in terms of graphic design.

Only after all that is done and the final preparations are made do the cameras, microphones and other technical tools go on and instructions follow that allow the speaker to get started.”

This sounds like a lot of work before actually presenting. Secretly, of course, we all just want to walk in, record/broadcast and be done! But when I ask Paul how he experienced the way StudioXR works when he first visited the Greenscreen Studio into his Virtual Classroom, he answers without hesitation.

“You come in and are welcomed by a team of professionals. Everyone knows what they are doing and that made me feel reassured as a trainer with little understanding of the tools behind the scenes. I really only had to be concerned with teaching my lesson and because Taco had explained how the whole recording would work, I knew exactly what to expect.”

Paul Berlée

Technical Trainer, Innovam

Talk about expectations … The Greenscreen Studio is one of the most important developments to keep an eye on within the evolution of education, according to both gentlemen. They expect the use of Virtual Classrooms and Visually Supported Presentations become an important factor in maximizing knowledge transfer.

“During a VCT (Virtual Classroom Training), I give participants a kickstart and tools to help them complete the homework. In addition, a short instruction from the Greenscreen Studio prior to the training makes you have more time during the physical lesson.”

Paul Berlée

Technical Trainer, Innovam

Taco adds:

“When 80% of people are visually oriented, this is an important channel to use. Finally, our job as knowledge communicators is to make sure that we can ensure maximum learning efficiency.”

And that’s a good point. As we wrote earlier in one of our blogs, is virtual learning (or Blended Learning from a GSS) is a step in the right direction for several reasons when we talk about personalized and appropriate education. Things like “learning at one’s own pace,” “insight into performance,” and “efficient and accessible education,” are terms that often come up when I talk to gentlemen about what they see as the added value of a Greenscreen Studio over traditional education.

So nice to see how the convergence of expertise in front of and behind the scenes creates synergy. Expertise at the controls provides space for craftsmanship in front of the camera. The only thing really needed, according to both men, is self-confidence and pleasure in what you do. Well, besides a well-equipped class, of course. Because effective work forms and a clear presentation do not come easy.

So it’s fair to say that StudioXR is ready with everything you need to make your production a success. From equipment and expertise to a wide range of platforms on which to conduct webinars and training.

“Adobe Connect, Teams, OBS, YouTube; these are just some of the platforms we support. But for those who have their own platform in which a webinar or online training needs to be provided, we connect to it without difficulty.”
